In May 2017 a painting from Gołuchów was brought to Polychromed Sculpture Restoration Workshop of National Museum in Poznań for restoration works. It was a portrait of a man painted on a wooden board. The painting was probably sold to Izabela Czartoryska as a picture of Nicolas Copernicus. The discovery made in our Painting Restoration Workshop that the portrait initially considered a representation of Nicolaus Copernicus is in fact a painting of famous Italian patron, is absolutely incredible.
